Sosa's bat is just another example of professional sports being for the dogs. This is a guy who's tried to play him off as a great, Dominican success story for years. But first, he exploded at a writer who had the audacity to suggest he take a drug test, and now, this whole bat business. Clearly, he belongs on the list.

I am proud to say that I'm watching less and less sports of late. I have not watched a Stanley Cup playoff game since the second round, and all interest in the NBA playoffs disappeared when Robert Horry missed that 3 pointer against the Spurs. Sports are meant to be played, out in the sun, at the gym, they're meant for working up a sweat, buidling camraderie, learning teamwork, pushing yourself to be the best you can be, not for us to sit in front of the television, watching overpaid fat cats prance and preen on the screen, while we pay hundreds of dollars to wear their shoes and trade little cards with their autographs on them.
