Chris, here is a pretty good article about the retirement of one of Tennis' greats, and no, it's not Pete Sampras. I have to admit, in recent years, I've ragged on Michael Chang for not retiring, for losing too much, etc. but this article took me back to a past time, a past time when I climbed out of bed at 8am to watch the French Open final against Edberg, when I'd scan the draws of all the major tournaments to see where Chang was placed, to a US Open final against Sampras in 1996 where a netcord on set point was the only thing that prevented him unseating the eventual champ. I'm sure other Asians will make it big in tennis, and sports soon (and I'm not talking about Tiger) and good luck to them all, but he will always be the first athlete I saw on TV who I was like, "damn, that guy looks like us!"

Now it's 60% Yes, 40% No. Had phone since senior year and just got a new one last week. Already putting it to good use (although it's still a work in progress).
And now for some stupid ways to die...

I have no cell phone, no plan on getting one.
My computer is infected with the SoBig worm. Which means it will periodically hijack the email system to send the worm to others. So if you guys see a email from tomshi@usc.edu, probably best not to open it.
Here we have the first ever Leage of Fools Poll. Just wondering, how many of you guys own cell phones now? I still don't, but am thinkign about getting one.
Cell phone? Yes 0% No 100%

Man, what a terrible way to die. And I thought such things happen only in bad horror movies.

tsk tsk tsk, Dave, you mean you forgot everything about freshman biology?
Actually, it is the only concept I remember from that year. It means an organism's perception of of the world.
Hey Trineesh,
I was at the dentist when the blackout hit. Fortunately, my dad had left work early for said dentist appointment, so he was not downtown when it hit. We proceeded to drive home, took like almost an hour and a half to go from eglington to sheppard along bayview, and then spent the rest of the day at home, in the dark. Other than eating up everything perishable in the fridge, it was business as usual by candle light.

My URL is 123jump.blogspot.com but I haven't been updating it for a while. After the summer classes. . . .
Another one of those rankings again, this time for the best college town by Outside Magazine (who the hell are they?). Cornell came in #14, beating out places such as University of Hawaii. I don't disagree with #1 though. (original article)

Ouch, Yao Ming blowing off fan meetings? This is troubling, if he is not careful he may start behaving like a NBA star.
Yes, our skinny friend told me that evidently, he was waiting for Yao Ming to show up at a store to get an autograph, but when Yao didn't show up, the reporters did a profile of the few fans waiting patiently in line instead!

He does look slimmer. What's the article about? Anyone have Northstar? From the limited info, either Ken is getting some sort of basketball prize or got drafted to the new Hong Kong WNBA franchise.
Hey guys, check this article out. Look at the 2nd picture on the article. Who the heck is that skinny guy in the Cornell shirt?

Congrats Chris. Meanwhile, unofficial records indicate I've moved bipedally approximately 0.6 mile in the same time frame. Data extrapolated from the distance from the bedroom to the bathroom and to the parking space.

I saw a MARVELOUS ad today while walking down Yonge St. It was a giant size painting ont he side of a building. It depicted a children's basketball team posing for a team photo. There was a brown kid, a black kid, some white guys, and even an asian player!! Then, there was one really tall, shawn bradley type white guy who was so tall his head was cut off. Then, the caption read something like "not all of us can be so lucky. For the rest of us, it takes planning and sound financial decisions." Man, that photo is bang no. I wish we could all be so lucky as to be the black kid in the centre of the photo!
