I don't see how it's racist. Okay, maybe at face value, but I don't believe she said it in a way that fits the usual connotation that goes with the word. If she had said, "I love Asian culture, they're all so hard working" that would have meant the same thing in her eyes. As you say, she's old so she probably isn't as PC as most people, so I'd let her go.
